Digitalization: Modern Demands On Today’s World

The technological revolution, which has taken place over the last 50 years, has completely changed the way people live. Since the post-modern era began in the 1960s, the world has undergone a tremendous advancement in every aspect of society when the internet initially began taking shape. The sudden boom in technology with the invention of the integrated circuit or the microchip in 1958 by Jack Kilby and Robert Noyce has ever since ushered the world into the age of digitalization.

The actual transformation of technology began only some two decades ago. Prior to this recent modernization, technological products were bulky and immobile. However, with the constant innovation of the microchip, machinery has become extremely advanced, concise and portable. Digitalization of cameras has taken photography to a completely different level. Mobile phones are no longer just phones; they are multi-purpose gadgets comprising of camera, music player, games, access to the internet and various other applications that would have been unheard of only a decade ago. Laptops and tablets are extremely handy. Not only are they far more advanced than the first computers, but also they are light and portable, enabling you to search the world from the screen.

Digitalization influences every part of society, from personal gadgets to public transport systems. Home appliances function digitally; they are equipped with what is known as the sixth sense technology where they themselves monitor various aspects of their functions. Appliances are completely independent; all that one needs to do is to give the required commands and the appliance takes care of everything else. This should make life simple to live.

Nonetheless, despite having these drastic changes, life has become much more face-paced and chaotic. People are constantly on their feet simply to earn big money so that they can get a hold of the latest gadget. Latest technology has now become a status symbol rather than an aid. Although innovation has made life easier, life has become demanding more than ever. The greater the advancement in knowledge and expertise, the more stressful life becomes.
